The class will teach you how to create these evocative black and white brush painting techniques, taking inspiration from nature. Once students are confident with the use of black ink along with their Chinese brushes, they can start out use color (Chinese watercolor). Students will also learn how to use oriental materials and tools properly following useful exercises, exploring the line to learn simplicity as a form of beauty. There will be an emphasis on subjects such as Flower, trees, Animals, landscape.

This is an ideal course for people interested in learning a new approach to art using oriental materials to create beautiful brushwork with ink and wash. You will receive a solid introduction to the subject with plenty of opportunity for practice and guidance from our professional Chinese artist. In general, the course will give you an open mind and opportunities to apply techniques and approaches learned on any other art form.
