Deep Roots. Since 1968
Located on the slopes above Okanagan Lake in West Kelowna lives Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery. First started as a grape growing business in 1968, Mt. Boucherie soon became one of the largest vineyard holdings in BC, farming 200 acres of land in both the Similkameen and Okanagan Valleys.
In 2020, following 20 years of running from a modest tasting room, they opened the doors to a brand-new luxurious wine experience centre. The 15,000 square-foot building features a dining lounge, tasting room and multiple private event facilities with some of the best views in the valley.
LAND OF OPPORTUNITY
Like our vines, our family roots in the Okanagan run deep. In 1958, Mehtab Gidda came to our “Land of Wonder” with a dream of farming and only $5 in his pocket. In 1978 we officially began growing our grapes. 3 generations, 60 years, and a lot of hard work later… we are proud of what happens when you pursue a dream.
Our name has been inspired by our land. Situated on the SE slope of Mt. Boucherie, a 60 million year old dormant volcano, Volcanic Hills Winery takes it’s name from the rich volcanic soils surrounding it. This is a land of opportunity, this is the terroir of the Okanagan.
