About this experience

Join a relaxed birdwatching session led by a local ornithologist who has personally conducted research in the area. With her deep knowledge of the park’s birdlife and history, you’ll gain insight into both the species you spot and the unique ecosystem they live in.

After a break for lunch on your own, the afternoon is yours to explore the Zagreb ZOO, located within the park. Your entrance ticket is included, and you’re free to move through the zoo at your own pace.

You’ll also have the option to enjoy a 30 min rowing session on the park’s lake (not included in the price, subject to availability). Whether you're interested in nature research or simply enjoying the environment, it's a great way to spend a few hours outdoors and wrap up a low-key, nature-filled day in the city!

Begin your day with a guided birdwatching session in Maksimir Park, one of Zagreb’s oldest urban parks. A local ornithologist will lead the walk and share insights based on her own research in the area. Learn about the bird species that live in the park and the ecosystem they are part of.
The terrain is mainly grass and gravel, but comfortable shoes are always a good idea. We will provide the binoculars and determination books, but feel free to bring your own.

In the afternoon, visit the Zagreb Zoo, located within the park. Admission is included, and you can explore the zoo on your own schedule. You also have the option to rent a boat for a 30-minute rowing session on the park’s lake (not included, subject to availability).
