In addition you will have a ticket to visit the tomb of King Tutankhamon. You can choose to tour these tombs on your own or if you prefer, with a guide. Some of these tombs go deep into the ground. Special tombs like that of Seti I require a separate ticket which you can purchase at the ticket office.
Built for Queen Hatshepsut who acted like a pharaoh this temple is set into the embrace of the mountains. As you approach the temple, you can appreciate its magnificent setting in the larger landscape and procession through the terraces. Made out of a similar material, the columns blend into the mountain, so that the temple seems carved out of the mountainside. The majestic architecture, frescoed paintings and axial views in various directions reinforce the power of Queen Hatshepsut making her contribution to the landscape more memorable than that of her male peers.
Visitors can take photographs with the colossal statues of Memnon which have stood overlooking the Nile Valley since 1350 B.C.E.
Travelers will receive the tickets for the monuments on the day of the tour.
