Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

Perched on a spectacular cliff overlooking the sea, Pointe du Hoc was one of the most heroic sites of the D-Day landings of June 6, 1944. It was here that the American Rangers climbed the cliffs under enemy fire to neutralize German artillery positions. Today, the site, which has remained almost intact, offers a striking landscape DE craters and bunkers, a poignant testimony to the fierce fighting. The view of the English Channel and the surrounding cliffs makes it both moving and magnificent.

2
Stop 2

Nicknamed “Bloody Omaha”, this vast golden sand beach was the scene of the most intense D-Day fighting. EN marching on this peaceful beach, it’s hard to imagine the courage DE thousands of American soldiers who landed under heavy fire. Monuments and museums pay tribute to their bravery, while the peaceful horizon invites reflection. An emblematic place where history and emotion mix with the natural beauty of the Normandy coastline.
It will also be an opportunity if you wish DE lunch (I know each suggested restaurant).

3
Stop 3

Overlooking Omaha Beach, this majestic cemetery houses the graves DE nearly 10,000 fallen American soldiers. The perfect alignments DE white crosses and stars DE David create an atmosphere DE peace and DE deep respect. The memorial, chapel and museum record DE these men's sacrifice with dignity. Between the sea and the cliffs, this place DE memory offers a moment DE silence and DE gratitude in the face of history.

4

Located between Omaha and Gold Beach, the DE Longues-sur-Mer Batteries are one DE the few remaining remnants of the Atlantic Wall. The site, classified as a historic monument, still houses its impressive original cannons, frozen facing the sea. EN route through the bunkers, we imagine the German defensive power and the stakes of the D-Day landings. A fascinating place, where nature and history come together for an immersive and authentic experience.

5

Arromanches was the scene of a unique technological feat: the construction of the artificial port “Mulberry”, vital for the supply of Allied troops. Even today, the remains DE this port stand out at low tide, recalling the ingenuity and determination of the Allies. The D-Day Museum and the spectacular panoramas DE from the cliffs tell the story of this logistical feat that changed the course of the war.

6
Stop 6

The first bridge liberated on 6 June 1944, Pegasus Bridge marked the beginning DE the liberation DE France. The British paratroopers DE the 6th Airborne Division succeeded here in a night assault of incredible precision. The faithfully restored bridge and the adjoining museum tell of this heroic mission. Surrounded by the canal and the famous “Café Gondrée”, DE France’s first liberated house, the site still vibrates DE the spirit DE courage and DE allied brotherhood.
