The visit of the Abbey of Monte Oliveto starts from the entrance where the audio guide will be delivered that will take you on a journey to discover the secret places of the Monastery, from the beautiful church, built in the fifteenth century, but later transformed in the eighteenth century in Baroque and Rococo style. Dedicated to the sacred figure of the Madonna, the church includes great artistic masterpieces, including a wooden choir inlaid by Fra Giovanni da Verona with 125 stalls and a finely inlaid lectern by Fra Raffaele da Brescia.
From the church the visit continues towards the Great Cloister with the beautiful frescoes by Luca Signorelli and Antonio Bazzi called the Sodom. The vivid tones and very detailed images of these masterpieces are able to tell very well the life, characters and views of the fifteenth century.
From the Cloister the itinerary continues in the refectory, in the chapter house and then in the large library where books, manuscripts and volumes of great value are kept.
