Göreme Panorama, one of the famous landscapes of Cappadocia, offers a particularly impressive view, especially during sunset. From this point, you can observe ancient churches and settlements nestled in the middle of fairy chimneys.
After approximately 45 minutes of travel, you will arrive at the Underground City. Initially used as a natural freezer by the locals, it later served as a shelter against Arab invasions by the late Romans. With your guide’s narrations, you’ll spend about 1 hour exploring this underground city.
Selime Monastery, one of the largest churches in Cappadocia, was constructed in the 13th century. It stands out with its extensive carved halls and ancient frescoes
Ihlara Valley is located 52 km away and is reached about 45 minutes after the Underground City. Formed as a result of volcanic activities of Mount Hasan, Ihlara Valley has an 80-meter-deep canyon due to the erosive effect of the Melendiz River over millions of years. You’ll embark on a 3.5 km walk along the 14 km valley.
Belisırma village, located south of Ihlara Valley, hosts one of the famous restaurants in the region. Having lunch here provides an excellent opportunity to taste local flavors and relax amidst beautiful scenery.
Yaprakhisar village in southern Cappadocia features ancient structures and caves among the fairy chimneys. Additionally, the historical Yaprakhisar Church is located in this area.
