As we are start going in interior of Stonetown first stop will be Jaws Corner is a famous cultural and social hub located in the heart of Stone Town. It is a traditional meeting point where locals gather to discuss politics, religion, and daily life over cups of strong Zanzibari coffee. As we head to Jaws Corner, we’ll explore the vibrant culture of Zanzibar, learn about iconic features like the intricately carved Zanzibar doors, and take beautiful photos to capture the memory. The Old Fort is the oldest building in Stone Town, originally built by the Portuguese as a coastal defense fort against their enemies. After the Portuguese were defeated, it was taken over and rebuilt by the Omani Arabs. Today, the fort houses local art shops, a café, and an open-air amphitheatre. It’s a great place to explore, relax, and enjoy the rich history and vibrant culture of Zanzibar.

We’ll pass by the House of Wonders, one of Stone Town’s most iconic landmarks. Built in 1883 by Sultan Barghash, it was the first building in East Africa to have electricity and an elevator. Though currently under renovation, its grand architecture and rich history make it a fascinating stop to admire and learn about Zanzibar’s royal and cultural heritage.

We’ll pass by the People’s Palace Museum, formerly the royal residence of Zanzibar’s sultans. Built in the 19th century, it showcases items from the Sultanate era. The building is currently under restoration, so we will admire it from the outside while learning about its historical significance.
