Detailed itinerary

1

We’ll start the day with an incredible view over Göreme. It’s the kind of place that makes you stop and just breathe it all in. The unique rock formations, fairy chimneys and cave homes stretch out before you like something from another planet. It’s quiet, peaceful and the perfect spot to begin our journey.

2
Stop 2

After taking in the view we'll journey south to explore the fascinating underground world of Kaymaklı one of Cappadocia’s largest and most impressive underground cities. With its narrow tunnels, ancient stone doors and multi level rooms this city once sheltered thousands of people during invasions. You'll walk through living spaces, kitchens, storage rooms and even a church all carved deep into the earth.

3
Stop 3

After exploring deep underground we'll immerse ourselves in nature. Ihlara Valley is a peaceful green canyon perfect for an easy and scenic walk. Surrounded by high cliffs and trees the valley is home to hidden cave churches with ancient frescoes. It’s a beautiful mix of nature and history ideal for relaxing and exploring.

4

A peaceful riverside village located right inside Ihlara Valley. This is the perfect spot to relax after our walk. We'll stop for lunch here surrounded by nature with traditional Turkish meals served right by the water.

5
Stop 5

Once we're refreshed from lunch, we'll head back toward Göreme stopping at the scenic Pigeon Valley. It's named after the thousands of tiny pigeon houses carved directly into its cliffs by locals in the past. It offers stunning photo opportunities and a look at Cappadocia’s unique history and landscape.

6

We'll then visit a truly unique historical landmark the Virgin Mary Church (Meryem Ana Kilisesi). Originally built in 1849 this beautiful building was repurposed as a prison between 1950 and 1983. It has been restored and now stands as a significant cultural site offering a glimpse into Cappadocia’s rich and diverse heritage.

7

Our day concludes with a visit to an authentic Onyx Workshop. Here you'll observe the exceptional craftsmanship behind one of Cappadocia’s most beautiful natural stones. Skilled local artisans will demonstrate the delicate techniques used to carve, shape and polish onyx into elegant sculptures and jewelry. It's a fascinating insight into the region’s artisanal heritage.
