Upon arrival at Cotopaxi National Park, you will be greeted by stunning views of the volcano, whose snow-covered summit is visible in all its splendor. The park offers an incomparable natural environment, with paramo, lagoons, and rich wildlife such as wild horses, deer, and Andean birds.
We will head to Limpiopungo Lagoon, a beautiful body of water located at the base of Cotopaxi, surrounded by paramo. Here, you can enjoy a relaxing walk around the lagoon, observe birds like ducks and geese, and enjoy the stunning scenery with the volcano in the background.
Visit to the José Rivas Refuge
We will begin the tour by ascending to the José Rivas Refuge, located at 4,864 meters above sea level. Here, you can enjoy an incredible panoramic view of Cotopaxi and its surroundings. If you feel adventurous, you can walk along nearby trails and explore the mountain landscapes while marveling at the majesty of the volcano.
