Algar de Benagil - Sculpted over 23 million years by the forces of nature, the Algar or Cave of Benagil is one of the great natural wonders of Portugal. It is close to the village of Carvoeiro and looks like a cathedral with a claraboy (so it is an algae and not a cave as it is common to say). There's a small beach inside, full of light. Considered by many one of the most extraordinary sea caves in the world, it has two arc openings, and is only accessible by sea.
