Our next stop will be: Gjirokastra, also known as the “Stone City,” is one of the oldest and most unique towns in Albania. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s famous for its stone-built houses with characteristic stone rooftops. The city is also the birthplace of Albania’s former dictator, Enver Hoxha. As one of the few cities that has preserved the country’s traditional architecture and old culture, Gjirokastra offers a journey back in time. Our next stop is the Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër)—one of the most stunning natural attractions in Albania. This breathtaking spring features crystal-clear, icy-cold water that bubbles up from deep underground, creating a vibrant blue “eye” in the middle of nature. Surrounded by green forest, it’s the perfect place to relax, take photos, and admire this natural wonder.
