The adventure starts with a 35-minute drive from Marrakech to Tahanaout, a picturesque Berber village at the foot of the Atlas Mountains.

08:45 Visit a local cooperative that produces argan oil, saffron or traditional craftsmanship (Berber rugs). Near our location, we will experience the local culture, learn about its craftsmanship, meet its artisans, and try everything from local produce to comestibles.

On your way to Ouirgane, you will stop at Souk Asni, a local and upbeat market that happens every Saturday! The souk is a great way to experience the local culture of the region. Discover everything from fruits and vegetables, spices, handmade crafts, textiles and much more here. It’s a great place to mingle with locals and immerse yourself in the pulse of Berber village life.

You will arrive in Ouirgane at 10:30 A.M., proceed along with a 3-hours guided hike through scenic Berber villages in the Atlas Mountains. An important highlight is to witness Anraz village with the ruins of a historic Jewish settlement, hence a view into the splendid cultural past of this area.

Stop by for traditional berber architecture, local life, and a stunning panorama of Lac Ouirgane. Your guide will share interesting stories of the area with its traditions and history.

It is a relaxing lakeside picnic of fresh local cuisine with Moroccan bread, olives, cheese, and homemade tagine or grilled meats.

Gather at the Place Jemaa el-Fna in Marrakech, Morocco, near the Café de France by 8:45 AM. Our guide will be standing directly outside the cafe's entrance with a sign prominently displaying our excursion's title. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to ensure our prompt embarkation.
