We see a lot of natural rock formations in this valley which reminds us of some animals such as a camel or a snake.
Pasabag valley is the number one location where we can see biggest fairy chimney formations and all steps of the erosion. Pasabag Valley is also known as ''Monks Valley''. This name comes from mystic storiesof the monks who used to live here in their rock-cut hermit cells. Here we discover a monastic complex including a chapel dedicated to St. Simeon (Simon) that was carved into natural fairy chimney formations.
The longest river of Turkey, the Kızılırmak (Red River), runs through Avanos. The most famous historical feature of Avanos is its production of earthenware pottery.
