We will begin our tour by gathering near Plaza Venezia, precisely in Plaza Aracoeli 11, opposite Bar Campidoglio. From there we will head towards the Plaza del Campidoglio where we will stop to explain the history of the square and some of the statues that adorn it. Then we will head towards a terrace from which it will be possible to admire spectacular views of the Roman Forum. We will continue along the picturesque Calle de los Foros Imperiales, which offers an extraordinary view of the remains of the ancient Forums, testimony to the greatness of the Roman Empire. We will then pass under the majestic Colosseum, telling of its most significant events.
We will conclude our trip in the restaurant “Il Salotto del Colosseo”, where we can taste a selection of excellent local wines, selected by a sommelier, accompanied by a delicious table of sausages and seasonal cheeses.
We will begin the walk by meeting at the Campidoglio Bar, in Piazza d'Aracoeli, located near Piazza Venezia. From here we will climb one of the seven hills of Rome: Piazza del Campidoglio.
Then we will look out onto a balcony from which we will see the Roman Forum, the largest and oldest square in Imperial Rome.
We will walk along the street of the Imperial Forums, from where we can admire the true heart of what was the capital of the Ancient World. We will continue with the Peace Forum and, from there, we will continue with the Caesar Forum, the Nerva Forum, the Augustus Forum and, finally, the Trajan Forum.
We will conclude our walk near the most symbolic monument of the Roman Empire, the Colosseum. From the outside we will know its history but we will also talk about other symbolic monuments of the imperial era such as the Arch of Constantine and the Arch of Titus. We will finish at the restaurant Salotto del Colosseo, with a suggestive view over one of the most emblematic monuments of ancient Rome, the Colosseum.
Arriving near San Giovanni in Laterano, just before stopping at the restaurant "Il Salotto del Colosseo" to taste the wines chosen for our experience, we will stop to admire the remains of Ludus Magnus. The largest gladiator school in the old amphitheater district.
