Pickup included
Materuni is the home of the Chagga tribe, located 15 km from Moshi Town, and it’s the last village before Kilimanjaro National Park. The adventure begins with a pick-up from Moshi or Arusha by an English-speaking guide, who will drive you to Materuni Village. After registration, you’ll take a 40-minute walk to the breathtaking waterfalls, where your guide will share insights into Chagga culture, village life, and local flora and fauna. On clear days, you may even spot Mount Kilimanjaro. The 80-meter waterfalls lead to a refreshing pool, perfect for a swim—don’t forget your swimwear! Afterward, enjoy a traditional Chagga lunch, including local banana beer. Then, dive into the coffee experience, learning how coffee is cultivated, roasted, and processed. You’ll also help grind coffee while enjoying Chagga songs and dances. The trip concludes with a visit to Chemka Hot Springs, a geothermal oasis where you can swim in the warm, clear waters.
