About this experience

Our 2 hour tours leave from Wickford Harbor on our rustic, 25ft. work skiff, and include:

* A history of aquaculture and a brief lesson on marine sustainability
* A hands-on harvesting experience
* A shucking demonstration
* An oyster tasting, straight from the source

Tours can accommodate up to six curious oyster-lovers. Children are welcome (and life jackets are provided for all)!

Immerse yourself in Rhode Island’s iconic export as you spend the day with the experts at West Passage Oysters Farm. Journey to Wickford Town Dock and learn from West Passage’s team about the history of half shells in Rhode Island, an oyster’s life cycle, and how shellfish are farmed in Rhode Island’s Narragansett Bay. Then, hop aboard West Passage Oyster’s 25ft farm boat to their lease at Rome Point for a firsthand experience on how oysters are farmed daily. Once at the farm, try your hand at harvesting, shucking, and eating the fresh oysters straight from the water, creating an unforgettable experience you’ll find only in Rhode Island.
