Lake Wakatipu is New Zealand’s longest lake, stretching 80 km through the heart of the Southern Alps. Surrounded by Queenstown, Glenorchy, and Kingston, it is famous for its stunning blue waters.

Lake Te Anau, the largest lake in the South Island. The history of Te Anau is deeply rooted in Mãori and European exploration. Mãori were the first people to discover and settle in the Te Anau area. The name "Te Anau" is derived from the Mãori language and is thought to mean "Place of the Swirling Waters" We take a break here for coffee and food and spend around 30-45 minutes depending on our Cruise booking.

The Mirror Lakes Walk is a short, easy 400-meter return stroll along a boardwalk in Fiordland National Park, offering stunning reflections of the Earl Mountains on calm days. Ideal for photography, it’s best visited in the early morning or late afternoon for the most vivid reflections.

Lake Gunn is a serene alpine lake in Fiordland National Park, located near the Milford Road (SH94). The Lake Gunn Nature Walk is an easy 45-minute loop through mossy forest with stunning lake views.

Homer Tunnel is a 1.2 km-long, one-lane tunnel on Milford Road (SH94), cutting through the Darran Mountains to provide access to Milford Sound. Opened in 1954, it has a rough-hewn, unlined rock interior, adding to its rugged charm. The tunnel descends toward Cleddau Valley, offering dramatic views upon exit. often we spot kea (alpine parrots) around the tunnel entrance while waiting at the traffic lights.

Monkey Creek is a stunning roadside stop along Milford Road in Fiordland National Park, known for its crystal-clear glacier-fed water and breathtaking mountain scenery. You can fill your bottles with some of the purest drinking water in New Zealand and may spot kea (alpine parrots) in the area. It’s a great place to pause, take photos, and enjoy the fresh alpine air on the way to Milford Sound.
