Detailed itinerary

1

Discover the essence of Cape Verde with an authentic city tour through the local meat, fish, and vegetable markets. As you select the ingredients for Katxupa, you'll interact with the community, learn about the local way of life, and explore the streets of the city.

The experience continues with an exclusive workshop led by a local chef, who not only teaches you how to prepare the traditional Katxupa but also shares the history and Cape Verdeans’ connection to corn – a key ingredient in the country’s culture and sustainability.

Traditionally cooked on Saturdays, Katxupa brings families together and is often enjoyed fried on Sundays for breakfast, served with a fried egg or fried fish. A full immersion in the flavors, aromas, and traditions of Cape Verde!

2

While the Katxupa is cooking, guests can visit the Ilhéu de Sal Rei for a swim at the beach overlooking the city. There is also the option to go snorkeling or enjoy a relaxing 15-minute massage.

3

Lunch is served at the house where the workshop took place, accompanied by live music, with coffee or tea and fruit included.
