The Ho Quoc Pagoda (also known as Chùa Hộ Quốc) is the largest Buddhist temple on Phu Quoc Island. Officially inaugurated on December 14, 2012, this spectacular temple is perched at the base of a lush mountain that faces the sea and the rising sun. The Ho Quoc Pagoda was inspired by Mahayana architecture and is part Buddhist temple, part monastery (Thiền Viện Trúc Lâm), and part eco-tourism site. The temple grounds are continuously undergoing renovations and is in a constant state of construction. The total area of the temple grounds is roughly 110 hectares and as of 2017, 13% of that area has been developed. The Chùa Hộ Quốc Phú Quốc pagoda is an architectural masterpiece and one of the wonders of Phú Quốc Island.
