We arrive at the charming coastal village of Quimixto, nestled in lush jungle surroundings. A short guided easy hike through tropical forest trails leads you to the breathtaking Quimixto Waterfall. The tour starts with the guide introduces the fascinating story of The Night of the Iguana (1964), the Tennessee Williams play-turned-Hollywood film, directed by John Huston.

As you set off, you'll cruise along the stunning coastline of the Bay of Banderas. Your guide will point out notable landmarks, local wildlife, and share the history of the area, including its fame from movies like Night of the Iguana.
A short ride brings you to the Los Arcos Marine Park, a cluster of granite islands rising dramatically from the sea. These arches, caves, and rocky outcroppings are teeming with life, both above and below the water. The unique shapes of the rocks, some with natural archways, make for fantastic photo opportunities.
Slip into the warm waters and snorkel in a vibrant underwater world. The marine park is known for its crystal-clear visibility and thriving ecosystem, home to:

You’ll arrive at the charming village of Quimixto. This small, authentic community offers a warm welcome with its cobblestone paths, colorful houses, and friendly locals. The village has a slow, tranquil pace, perfect for soaking in the atmosphere.
From the village, you’ll embark on a guided hike up to the waterfall. The trail takes you through lush tropical forest, crossing a scenic river and winding past vibrant flora and fauna. Depending on the season, you might see exotic birds, butterflies, and blooming wildflowers.
The waterfall is a spectacular sight, cascading into a crystal-clear pool surrounded by rocks and greenery. The soothing sound of water rushing down adds to the serene ambiance. Visitors can swim in the refreshing natural pool, climb on the rocks for a closer look, or simply relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.
On the way back, the taxi will take a turn of the beaten path and show you all around the local side of the unique town of Quimixto.
