I’m Jair, your host and guide for an unforgettable hike to Monkey Mountain.

We’ll meet at Sayulita’s bus station and take public transport to the charming village of Higuera Blanca (25 minutes away).

From there, we’ll hike 8 km (5 mi) through vibrant trails, ending with stunning 360° views of the Pacific and Sierra Madre.

After the hike, a taxi will take you to one of Sayulita’s top traditional restaurants for a refreshing coconut and authentic local meal.

Detailed itinerary

Your adventure begins at the Sayulita Bus Station, where we will take a local bus to the town of Higuera Blanca(25 min)
After a brief introduction we will begin the hike to Cerro del Mono. The round trip distance is 8 km/ 5 mile. We will start on a path that connects to the jungle, from there we will continue up a long hill and we will climb some rocks to the top of the hill. The difficulty intensity is medium - moderate.
During the tour you will learn about the flora and fauna and the geography of the place. As well as the culture, traditions and history of the Higuera Blanca and Sayulita
At the top of the hill you will have time to rest, admire the landscape and enjoy a small snack.
We will descend along the same path and stop at a station where you will meet “Don Pedro” who will have a fresh coconut for you. Then we going to "La Cocina de Mamá Toña" a small local restaurant with delicious mexican food.
Finally we will take a private transport to Sayulita. The duration is 4:30 hrs.
