During the guided tour of the archaeological site of Olympia we will talk about the Olympic Games, their history and their importance. We will talk about myths and legends and visit the training places of the athletes, the sacred place of Olympia with the imposing temple of Zeus that housed the chrysanthemum statue of Zeus, and the temple of Hera where every four years the Olympic flame is lit that starts the games. Afterwards, we will visit the Olympic stadium where both small and large we could test our athletic endurance!

During the guided tour of the Archaeological Museum of Olympia we will have the opportunity to observe the grandiose works of art and objects connected to the Olympic Games and the sacred place of Olympia, including the fascinating pediments of the temple of Zeus, the tools of the sculptor Phidias who made the chrysanthemum statue of Zeus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Hermes of Praxiteles and the Nike of Peonio. Each statue, each object, speaks of a past rich in culture and values that still inspire the world today.
