After meeting your private guide at the pier of the Port of Bonifacio, you will take the way to the citadel, also called the upper town of Bonifacio, perched at more than 70 meters high.
After a nice climb, you will find yourself in the historic heart of the city.
Accompanied by explanations and anecdotes of your passionate guide, you will discover all the remains of this historic city, starting with the impressive Porte de Gêne and its drawbridge.

The tour will continue by visiting the bastion of the Etendard, the highest in France, where you will admire the typical medieval architecture of this fort of the 15th century.
After a guided visit, you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea, the port, the cliffs and the surrounding natural spaces.

Highlight of the visit, the staircase of the king of Aragon. According to the legend, this staircase was built in a single night in 1420 by the soldiers of the king of Aragon so that they could invade the city and climb into the citadel.

When descending the 187 steps of the staircase, you will have an impressive view overlooking the sea at more than 60 meters high. Once down, you will take the path along the cliff to a hidden natural cave.
Then, at your own pace, you will climb up the steps.

The visit will continue with another of the historical monuments to see in the city: the church of Santa Maria Maggiore.

It is not only the main church of Bonifacio but also the oldest building in the city.
You will admire a beautiful loggia.

Reaching the end of the peninsula, you will walk to the marine cemetery, among the most beautiful in the Mediterranean.

Overlooking Bonifacio, you will take a short stroll between the familiar white tombs that harmoniously contrast with the intense blue of the sea.
