Kibera is the largest slum in Africa and one of the largest in the world. The aim of organizing this experience is to enable our guests to learn more about the local community`s way of life and the income we generate from the booking fee helps us in paying school supplies and fees for the orphans and vulnerable children in the slum. 50% of the booking fee goes back to the community. We are a team of Four Guides. We were both born and raised in the slum. There are 5 stops during this experience; 1. Our office I will first welcome you to our office for introductions and briefing about the entire experience. The office is safe and super clean. 2. Crafts center You will witness how locals recycle materials to make jewelry and other handmade items. 3. Visit an open air market You will get to visit the market where the locals buy the second-hand items. 4. Home visit I will then welcome you to one of the houses/home to see the inside living standards of the people. 5. Restaurants for rest.
