While many restaurants in Austin offer the food included on this tour, not all of them do these dishes justice, and you want to make sure you get the absolute best. Through years of trial and error, we’ve found the best restaurants Austin has to offer, and now we’d love to take you to them!
First we step into a longstanding local chili parlor just steps from the Capitol grounds. Enjoy a steaming bowl of their signature chili topped with a perfectly cooked egg—an Austin tradition that will warm you up from the very first bite.
We head south to a famous barbecue haven on Barton Springs Road. You and your partner will share tender, smoky brisket—prepared low and slow over wood flames—while learning the secrets of Texas pitmaster techniques.
Back on South Congress, you’ll indulge in a light, airy pancake that’s practically its own food group here. Served fresh off the griddle, these little blue beauties are the perfect balance of fluffy and flavorful. Quickly following up with some local ice cream or coffee!
Stroll into the vibrant Rainey Street district and share a tasting platter of three gourmet sausages—everything from spicy to herby—paired with house-made mustard and pickles.
We wrap up near the Convention Center at a taqueria beloved by locals. Each guest receives a perfectly seasoned al pastor taco—think juicy pork, fresh cilantro, and just the right amount of char.
We meet on 12th st. street across from the Capitol, with Lavaca Street in between the meeting point and the Capitol. There's a parking garage here as well as street parking. Our guide will arrive in a white Ford Bronco, with it's hazard lights on and roof open, that way you can spot him easily!
