About this experience

Discover the art of Japanese calligraphy in a studio conveniently located between two popular tourist destinations: Akihabara and Ueno! Begin your experience with a short introductory video highlighting the history of Japanese calligraphy, followed by a guided tutorial covering the basics of brushwork and kanji writing. You'll first practice writing your name in Japanese—or select your favorite kanji character—on authentic washi paper. Then, for your final product, you'll be able to write your name or character directly onto a traditional paper kite or a paper fan, creating a personalized souvenir to bring home with you. Enhance your experience even further with an optional Matcha Whisking session by selecting the "Calligraphy & Matcha Whisking" plan when booking.
