Located in the heart of Cairo’s Al-Tahrir Square, the Egyptian Museum is the country’s most renowned antiquities museum and home to the world’s largest collection of pharaonic artifacts. Its vast collection includes statues, tables, coffins, as well as extensive displays of papyrus and coins. The museum features 42 rooms, two of which are dedicated to the mummies of ancient Egyptian kings and other members of the royal family.

Stop 2

The Giza Plateau is home to the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, along with their surrounding pyramid complexes and the iconic Great Sphinx of Giza. This extraordinary site dates back to the 4th Dynasty, around 2400 BCE.

The Great Sphinx, attributed to Pharaoh Khafre, is the world’s largest statue, measuring 73 meters long, 19 meters wide, and 20 meters high. It is also the oldest known monumental sculpture.
