Oshino Hakkai are the eight springs found in Oshino, Yamanashi, Japan. The aquifer water from Mount Fuji comes out to the ground to form these springs. They are a Natural monument of Japan, part of the Mount Fuji World Heritage Site. Winter offers a particularly stunning vista of the iconic mountain. That vista is the striking “Diamond Fuji” phenomenon, which can only be seen from certain places due to the position of the Earth. Diamond Fuji is when the rising or setting sun aligns perfectly with the peak of Mt. Fuji, as though the caldera is cupping the sun. A small open-air museum, the Hannoki Bayashi Shiryokan, surrounds the largest pond. A small admission fee is required. The water in the Waku Pond is especially clear and clean, and visitors are encouraged to drink it and even take some home in a bottle. It’s a great place to buy gifts and souvenirs, street food is amazing as well.
The highest peak of Mt Fuji (2200m) that is accessible by car, interesting for the hikers. This is the closest point to view the top of Mt fuji. P.S The station is reached by the Fuji Subaru Line, a scenic toll road up Mount Fuji's lower northern slopes, that begins in Fujikawaguchiko Town. The toll road costs 2100 yen and may temporarily get partially closed in winter in times of heavy snow. Furthermore, the road is closed to private vehicles during most of the climbing season (July 5 to September 10, 2024), during which shuttle buses operate between designated parking lots at the base of the mountain and the 5th station.
Lake kawaguchi is the second largest lake of the Mt Fuji five lakes, can enjoy the beautiful view of Mt fuji The Kachi Kachi Ropeway ascends to an observation point near the summit of Mount Tenjo, from where Lake Kawaguchiko and Mount Fuji can be seen. Oishi Park is a public park located on the north shore of Lake Kawaguchi. From the park you can enjoy a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi. The park features a 350m walking path with many flowers planted along it; from early April to Late May the moss phlox flowers spread out like a pink carpet, from late June into late July the gorgeous lavender plants bloom, and from mid to late-October the kokia shrubs show their beautiful red autumn colors. The contrast between the various flowers and Mt. Fuji is spectacular. The park is also home to the Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center where you can enjoy making fruit jam and an all-you-can eat cherry & blueberry picking course. They also feature a café where you can try specialty made blueberry ice cream.
Its a peace memorial park with shinto shrines and as many as 398 stairs leads to exotic and mind blowing view of Mt Fuji at different elevations. Chureito pagoda at the top was build in the memory of soldiers and civilians lost lives in world war I and II, famous for viewing and taking pictures with majestic Mt Fuji from the observatory deck.
