Since the Roman period, it has been carved into many rooms, houses, shelters, depots, cisterns, tombs, and cellars, and has been an important defense point against Arab raids. It has large stone cannonballs used for defense against attackers. Uçhisar Castle, which was used both as a watchtower and a defense castle, maintained its importance during the Seljuk and Principality periods. (12-14th centuries) The castle, which was generally a border region of the principalities, began to be called "Uçhisar" due to its location as the eastern border of the Seljuks, the western border of the Kadı Burhanettin Principality, and the eastern border of the Karamanoğulları

Stop 4

Paşabağı Valley is known as an area where Cappadocia's most unique fairy chimney formations are located. Fairy chimneys are formed as a result of wind and water erosion of soft volcanic rocks called tuff. One of the most distinctive features of the fairy chimneys in Paşabağı is their wide "mushroom-shaped" top. This image attracts the most attention from visitors to the region.

5
Stop 5

Zelve Valley is also an open-air museum. There are many churches, monasteries, living spaces and chapels carved into the rocks. One of the most interesting aspects of Zelve is how people who lived here for many years survived in these rock structures. Zelve Open Air Museum gives visitors a deep insight into how life was lived in these rock houses in ancient times.

6
Stop 6

Devrent Valley, unlike other Cappadocia valleys, does not contain fairy chimneys. Instead, the rock formations naturally resemble various animal figures, human faces, or other recognizable shapes. Visitors can see the silhouettes of camels, dinosaurs, sailing ships, skulls, and other animals in these rock formations. For this reason, the region is a popular spot for photographers and those who want to challenge their imagination.

7

Avanos Pottery Culture is an important traditional handicraft identified with the Avanos district in the Cappadocia region of Turkey. Avanos has had a great reputation in ceramics and pottery throughout history. The pottery produced in this district is both a part of the regional culture and a traditional art form recognized in different parts of the world. Pottery in Avanos has a history dating back thousands of years and is of great historical and cultural importance.
