Zelve Open Air Museum is known as the longest continuously inhabited settlement in Cappadocia region. It is also the oldest settlement in the region is located approximately 2 km east of Goreme district. You will be able to see the rock-carved houses and caves of the people who lived here until 65-70 years ago.

Clay from the Kizilirmak River was first used for pottery making by the Hittites 1700 BC, and continues to exist as an art form until today. Watch a master demonstrate pottery making and painters apply delicate patterns, or step onto the potter's wheel yourself and make your own unique pot.
