Detailed itinerary

Stop 1

The Ice River Shrine (Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture) is a famous shrine for marriage in the Kanto region, known for its summer wind chime festival and thousand torii gates. It is also the inspiration for the “Mikage Shrine” in the anime series “Genki Shoujo Enmusubi-sama”! The main deities, a married couple, symbolize good marriage, and visitors can pray for marriage omamori. From July to September each year, thousands of wind chimes are hung along the corridor, creating a dreamlike and romantic atmosphere. The “Hina Nagashi” ceremony within the shrine is said to ward off disasters and bring good fortune. The surrounding area features the historic “Kurazukuri Old Street,” where visitors can experience the atmosphere of Edo-period Japan. Admission is free, and during the Wind Chime Festival, the shrine remains open until 8:00 PM.

The 38th Tone River Grand Fireworks Festival will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 18:30 to 20:30 at the scenic Tone River riverbed in Sakai Town, Ibaraki Prefecture. This highly anticipated event is set to feature approximately 30,000 stunning fireworks, making it a grand spectacle.

The most exciting highlight of this year's festival is the unprecedented collaboration of Japan's four top fireworks manufacturers—Yamazaki Fireworks Mfg. Co., Nomura Fireworks Co., Ltd., Beniya Aoki Fireworks, and Marutamaya Fireworks Co., Ltd. Together, they will create an immersive audiovisual extravaganza, featuring music-synchronized firework displays, breathtaking rapid-fire sequences, and majestic large-scale shell bursts. This gathering of master pyrotechnicians will showcase the pinnacle of firework artistry, promising an unparalleled and awe-inspiring experience for all attendees.
