Boats depart the Main Pier at Ross Castle every hour on the hour starting at 10 am – 5 pm daily. Your guide will educate you about the history of the Island as you take the 15 minute open boat ride out the the island.
Explore the ruins of the 12th century Augustinian Priory & Romanesque Church and the wildlife that inhabit the island. The boat will then travel back to Main Pier at Ross Castle. The trip lasts 1 hour in total. Additional time on the island can be arranged subject to boat availability on the day.

Take in lake side spectacular views Ross Castle (Irish: Caisleán an Rois) is a 15th-century tower house and keep on the edge of Lough Leane,. It is the ancestral home of the Chiefs of the Clan O'Donoghue later associated with the Brownes of Killarney.
The castle is operated by the Office of Public Works and is open to the public seasonally with guided tours.
