Relax with a morning coffee in the Avoca cafe in Powerscourt, where you can shop for high quality Irish handcrafts before heading into the heart of the Wicklow Mountains National Park.
Explore remote mountain passes with spectacular views of glacial lakes and infinite shades of green. Breath in the crisp mountain air with a short guided walk at the Sally Gap with stunning views of Lough Tay and the Guiness Family estate. This area is so unique and spectacular that it was chosen as the backdrop to the 'Vikings' series and movies like 'Braveheart'.
After a break for lunch at a traditional Irish pub where you can taste the local specialities, it's back on the road to Glendalough. An enchanting 6th century monastic settlement complete with round tower, the jewel of the National Park. Marvel at the history of the hermit priest St Kevin and the enchanting settlement at Glendalough. Hike from the lower lake to the upper lake and discover one of the 'off the beaten track' mountain trails which provide stunning views of the Glacial valley.
Then it's time take an alternate route through the National Park on your return to Dublin city center and your chosen destination.
This is a suggested tour itinerary based on our lenghty experience of providing day tours in Wicklow however we are happy to work with your group to tailor the tour to your requirements. There are many more worthwhile destinations in Wicklow such as Powerscourt Waterfall and Avoca village. There are also excellent hillwalking and mountain biking opportunities.
