08:30 – Start your day with a visit to Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest Buddhist temple in Hanoi. Originally built in the 6th century during the reign of Emperor Ly Nam De, this ancient pagoda rests serenely on a small island in West Lake. With its peaceful setting and graceful architecture, Tran Quoc Pagoda remains a cherished symbol of Vietnam’s enduring spiritual depth and cultural legacy.

Stop 3

09:15 – Continue to the Ho Chi Minh Complex, home to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the final resting place of Vietnam’s beloved revolutionary leader. Explore the Ho Chi Minh Stilt House, where he lived and worked between 1954 and 1969, preserved to showcase his humble and modest way of life. The visit also includes the One Pillar Pagoda, one of Hanoi’s most iconic landmarks, dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy and celebrated as one of Asia’s most distinctive architectural masterpieces.

11:00 – Explore the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, an engaging museum that highlights the rich cultural diversity of Vietnam’s 54 officially recognized ethnic groups through fascinating exhibits, traditional artifacts, and life-sized models of ethnic houses.
Note: On Mondays, when the Museum of Ethnology is closed, the visit will be replaced with the Vietnam Women’s Museum, which honors the vital role of women in the nation’s history and culture.

15:00 – Continue your journey with a visit to Hoa Lo Prison, constructed by the French between 1886 and 1901 during the era of French Indochina. Known to the French as Maison Centrale, the prison initially held Vietnamese patriots and revolutionaries who resisted colonial rule. During the Vietnam War (1964–1973), it was later used by North Vietnam to detain American prisoners of war. Today, Hoa Lo Prison stands as a powerful historical landmark, offering profound insights into Vietnam’s turbulent past and the enduring spirit of its people.
