Detailed itinerary

Stop 1

Explore a piece of Spain's regal heritage with a 2-hour guided tour of the Royal Palace of Madrid, also known as the Palace of Oriente. This magnificent structure, covering 135,000 m² and boasting 4,318 rooms, was built on the ruins of the Royal Alcázar of Madrid after it was destroyed by fire in 1734. Our tour begins at the grand entrance, where you'll learn about the palace's history and its construction, which commenced on April 6, 1738, under the direction of architect Giovanni Battista Sacchetti.

Step into the opulent halls used for gala events, official receptions, and state ceremonies. While the King of Spain's official residence, the Royal Family now resides in the more modest Zarzuela Palace, making the Royal Palace primarily a venue for state functions. Marvel at the exquisite Throne Room, the majestic Hall of Mirrors, and the regal Banquet Hall, each room showcasing the grandeur and intricate details of Spanish monarchy.
