Detailed itinerary

Stop 1

Meet your friendly guide at 8am simply in hotel and then take a 2h drive to the Leshan Buddha. Upon arrival at Leshan, indulge in a delicious Chinese lunch at a popular local restaurant. Afterwards, your guide will lead you to the Grand Buddha Temple (Lingyun Temple), located behind the Grand Buddha’s head. Marvel at the elaborate construction of its coiled hair, which is made up of around 1,020 twisted buns. Walk inside and marvel at the intricate sculptures and wall designs of the temple.
Then, follow your guide down the trail toward the left of the Grand Buddha. This walk usually takes approximately 30 minutes, but is flexible depending on any rest or photo stops you may want to make. Standing at an impressive 233 feet (71 meters) high and 92 feet (28 meters) wide, it is by far the largest carved Buddha sculpture in the entire world! Admire the grandeur of this structure as it towers over you. For an alternative view of the Grand Buddha, you can take a boat cruise on the river.

Stop 2

Hop on to your comfortable air-conditioned vehicle and head to Huanglongxi Ancient Town — for a stroll around its well-preserved stone streets, built during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911). Pass three ancient temples as well as historical residences along the central lane. Enjoy the sights of older-style buildings, gardens and rows of souvenir shops and vendors lining the street.Walk slowly through the winding old alleys and enjoy a leisure time with the locals.
