If you have the time, visit the Arena inside too.
As you discover the Castelvecchio Bridge, you will read about the Scaligeri family, who ruled Verona for a long time during the Middle Ages. There is a nice museum there too, if you like. This is the heart of the Carnival of Verona, and a beautiful large square where kids play all day long. The cathedral itself is majestic and beautiful. If you have the time, visit it from inside. In its cool penumbra, you'll discover beautiful pieces of art, as the "Pala del Mantegna".
