One of Oakland’s hipper neighborhoods, Temescal has emerged as an eating destination, home to culinary innovation and creative food producers. It's home to creative food producers, culinary innovation, and menus reflecting the diverse cultural mix of the community. Begin the tour with fresh seasonal produce at the Urban Village farmers market and pucker up for some fermented fun from Golden State Pickle Works. We follow those tastes with Baja-style tacos from Cholita Linda and a decadent sweet pastry known as a kouign-amann from Starter Bakery. Round out this tour with traditional Ethiopian injera (fermented flatbread) and wot (stew) from Abesha Ethiopian Cuisine, classic tofu soup from Pyeong Chang Tofu House, and a sweet end note in the charming alleys, courtesy of Curbside Creamery.

Meeting Location:

The tour meets at the Farmer's Market in front of the main DMV sign, 5300 Claremont Ave, Oakland, CA 94618. We have two stops; one savory and one sweet. If you want coffee, plan on coming early to wait in line before the tour starts. Time permitting, guests will have the opportunity to take a spin through the market after our stops and before the tour moves on.

All tickets are nonrefundable and cannot be exchanged or rescheduled. Tickets can be transferred to another guest. If you are transferring the ticket, please let us know if there are dietary restrictions for this guest and we will attempt to accommodate.

If excursion fails to meet minimum enrollment (4 guests), Edible Excursions will contact guests 5 days in advance to offer an alternative or offer a refund.
