About this experience

The historic Ferry Building and Alcatraz are two of San Francisco's most prolific attractions. On this not-to-be missed combo tour, you get to see them both in one day. First, enjoy 90 minutes in the Ferry Building to nibble on some of the city’s finest fare during a guided tour.  Please note that the Farmer's Market is active on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Tours on all other days will spend more time and visits inside the building. After the food tour, walk over to Pier 33 to pick up your tickets and board your ferry to Alcatraz. On Alcatraz Island, the Cellhouse audio tour will captivate you with live recordings from the former prisoners.

Meet your industry expert guide in front of the historic steps under the famous Ferry Building clocktower. Your guide will be holding an Edible Excursions tote bag.

You'll begin this 90-minute tasting tour inside the Ferry Building Marketplace, where a knowledgable guide/food industry professional leads you on a historic, food-filled journey of the building's local, artisan cuisine and food purveyors.

Continue outside the Ferry Building Marketplace as you explore the thrice weekly Farmer's Market. As you stroll, you may see some of the city's most-revered chefs buying fresh produce to serve at their restaurants that evening.

Alcatraz is steep and hilly. A moderate amount of walking is involved, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended
You may depart Alcatraz Island at any time; ferries depart every 30-40 minutes

We will meet in front of the historic steps in the front of the ferry building, underneath the clock tower. Your guide will be holding a canvas tote with Edible Excursions printed on it.
