Departing from Ushuaia, we travel along Route 3 toward Tierra del Fuego National Park. After a stop at the golf course for panoramic views of the Beagle Channel, we enter the park to explore Ensenada Bay and board a catamaran to Redonda Island. There, we enjoy unique views and an optional short hike through Fuegian forests. Back on land, we continue to Lake Acigami, surrounded by mountains and forests, ideal for birdwatching. We then visit the Alakush Visitor Center for a short break before heading to Lapataia Bay—the end of National Route 3—where we discover rich coastal life and traces of ancient indigenous inhabitants. The tour ends with a walk along the scenic footbridge before returning to Ushuaia.
We will visit Ensenada Bay, from where we will have excellent panoramic views of the Beagle Channel and its islands, and then board our catamaran to begin sailing to Redonda Island.
After a 15-minute sail, we will moor on this wonderful island, from where we will have unique views of the Beagle Channel and the National Park. Here, we will have the option of taking a short hike of medium/low difficulty, immersing ourselves in the Fuegian forests and ending at a panoramic viewpoint where you can take excellent photographs.
After the visit, we will return to the catamaran to begin our return to Ensenada Bay and continue our tour.
Along the road surrounded by lenga forests and peat bogs, we will reach Lake Acigami (formerly Lake Roca), a glacial lake with a surface area of 5.50 square kilometers, framed by mountains and forests, where it is possible to spot native birds.
A few minutes from Lake Acigami, we will stop at the Alakush Visitor Center where we will have approximately 20 minutes of free time. It offers a cafeteria, restaurant, restrooms, a souvenir shop, and a small museum.
The final leg of the excursion takes us to Lapataia Bay, after crossing the cormorant archipelago and peat bogs. At Lapataia Bay, in addition to the coastline rich in mollusks and mussels, we will find vestiges of the ancient aboriginal people who inhabited the region. There, we'll have time to walk along the footbridge, from which we can take photographs and enjoy the sensation of being at the end of the world.
From this point, the end of National Route 3, we'll begin our return to the city of Ushuaia.
