What you'll see

In the first valley lalla takerkoust Start our Plateau kik day trip from marrakech with vehicle drive towards the Dam of Lalla Takkerkoust on the Nfis River, a beautiful panorama on the Atlas mountain range. We will join the track road passing through several Berber villages, situated at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. We continue to the plateau of Kik, a very beautiful panorama having the lake like centre. Plain dominated by massive water-bed of the dame and by the chain of the High Atlas (tops with more than 4000 meters). After this, we stop at the holy village “Saint Moulay Brahim” (there is an annual holy ceremony that is held in July). Now, we arrive to the beautiful spot of Asni Ouirgane, with a splendid sight of Mont Toubkal, Covered with snow during winter and in spring.

Leaving Asni, we will follow the road of Tizi n’Test, in the direction of Marrakech, passing by Moulay Brahim Gorges. At Tahanaoute, there is a small road to join quickly the valley of Ourika where your lunch is reserved in a good restaurant.

The second valley is  The valley of Asni Ouirgane to see the one of the most beautiful countryside in Morocco and the lake that fills the fall floor. About an hour from Marrakech lies the magnificent green valley of Ourigane, hidden in the foothills of Mount Toubkal. You can visit the souk Tahanout (Tuesday and Saturday) before taking the drive through the river gorges Ghezaia on the way to Asni, famous for amethyst, for a picnic lunch while enjoying the fabulous mountain scenery.  Ouirgane is the peak (the highest point) of the mountains around at an altitude that levels up 2300 meters in some areas, and spreads over many kilometers.

The Asni and Ouirgane Valley known as The Happy Valley with its amazing greenery, wild and flora, it is an ideal start point for treking lovers.

In the third valley, Ourika, we crossed a wooden bridge hanging above the river, and then climbed with a local guide to see the waterfall. The climb was challenging in some places, and we were very glad that we had sturdy hiking shoes and were reasonably fit. The waterfalls were pretty, the view was lovely and we enjoyed a drink at the top before making the descent. Along the walk there are several local Berber sellers with jewellry, woodcraft, rugs and ceramics. There was no real pressure to buy anything, and we enjoyed watching the Berber wood craftsman using his 'Black and Decker' original drill to make holes in stone lanterns.
