The greatest attraction of the eco-tourist paradise of Celestún is the Celestún Biosphere Reserve; Its surface area of 591,139 hectares and its length of 21 km is considered the most beautiful natural space in Yucatán. It is located 95km from Mérida on the Yucatán Peninsula.
Among its natural attractions is the Baldiosera spring where you can swim, there is also the Cambay spring which is an eye of fresh water and finally there is Tambor, the roost of the pink Flamingo or called Caribeño or known as Meco.
Celestún flamingos are the pinkest due to the concentration of carotene in the water. They are observed in their natural ecosystem aboard boats guided by locals.
