Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

You will be picked up from fixed point / hotel and driven to Jaipur. Upon arrival leave for sightseeing.

Amber Fort is a UNESCO World Heritage site located just outside the city of Jaipur. The magnificent fort is situated atop a mountain with the placid waters of Lake Maota next to it. It is a very scenic drive up the gentle slope with the ramparts of the fort on one side and a steep decline to the lake below on the other side. Blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture, the fort was built in 1592 by Raja Man Singh. The fort complex houses several beautiful halls like the Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors). It is built in four sections, each with its own gate and courtyard. The oldest structure is the palace built by Raja Man Singh.

2
Stop 2

The beautiful Jal Mahal (Water Palace) is situated in the middle of Lake Man Sagar. The five storied palace is built of red sandstone and marble. Four storeys remain submerged in water. It is not just an architectural but also a technological marvel. The solid stone walls held by a specially designed lime mortar have withstood the water in the lake for the last 250 years. In the backdrop are the scenic Nahargarh hills.

3
Stop 3

Built between 1729 and 1732, the palace was the seat of the Maharajas of Jaipur. It is still a residence for the royal family of Jaipur. It is made of light sandstone and combines the Rajput and Mughal architectural styles. Today a part of the palace has been converted into a museum that has a superb collection of Rajasthani costumes. Two beautiful palaces, the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal are situated within the complex.

4
Stop 4

The Jantar Mantar observatory is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It has a splendid collection of sun dials and 20 other astronomical instruments. Built in the 18th century, it has been designed for astronomical observation with the naked eye.

5
Stop 5

Last stop is the famous landmark of Jaipur, Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). Shaped like a crown and built in pink sandstone, it has 953 latticed jharokhas (windows) that allow a pleasant breeze to pass through. The womenfolk of the royal family used to gaze down on the streets below from these jharokha without being visible to the outside world. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site today.

Afterwards you will be driven back to Delhi and dropped at your hotel or fixed point within city center.
