Colaba (20 minutes)
You will be picked up from fixed point / hotel leave for sightseeing.
Lively Colaba is famous for its Parsi community. Mumbai would not be the same without its Zoroastrian population. Not only would the flavor of the town become bland, much of its history would also be misplaced without them.
St. Thomas Cathedral (20 minutes)
St. Thomas Cathedral is the first Anglican Church to have been built in Mumbai in 1718. Mumbai has an active Christian community that is very much a part of the city. The Cathedral was built on the Neo-Classical and Neo-Gothic styles of architecture and has a soothing white façade. The interiors mirror the interiors of the St. Thomas Cathedral in Ireland.
Gate of Mercy Synagogue (15 minutes)
Two Jewish communities- the Baghdadi Jews and the Bene-Israel - have also been living in this city for generations and have given it lots of important landmarks. Drive to one of the oldest synagogues in Mumbai, the Gate of Mercy Synagogue. Built in 1796 by a Bene Israeli, the synagogue was shifted to its present location in 1860. It still maintains active services for its congregation of members.
Mohammad Ali Road (30 minutes)
Mumbai also has a huge Muslim population, consisting of Bohras, Khojas, Memons and numerous other communities. Stroll through the by-lanes of Mohammed Ali Street for a glimpse into their lives.
Walkeshwar Temple (30 minutes)
Next take a look at the large Hindu community of Mumbai. Visit the Banganga water tank and the Walkeshwar temple, one of the oldest religious sites in Mumbai. The temple was originally built in 1127 and is situated at the highest point in Mumbai. It was rebuilt in 1715. Dedicated to God Shiva, the temple has a fresh water tank that is said to have sprung up after an arrow shot by Lord Rama, the hero of the Hindu epic, Ramayana.
Once your tour will be finished you will be driven back to fixed point / your hotel.
