The farm is set on a beautiful island, which was reclaimed from the backwaters of Lake Vembanad in the early 1950’s by the owner’s grandfather. The working farm, which practices sustainable/organic methods of farming, lies two meters below the lake level and produces coconut, banana, fruit and assorted vegetables. Kerala cooking differs from the North Indian cuisine. Both Vegetarian and non-Vegetarian meals are favored. Kerala is believed to be the original home of black pepper. The word "pepper" has its roots in the Tamil word for long pepper, Pippali. The name traveled through time via Greek and Latin into today’s English version. After you enjoyed this culinary adventure you will be taken back to your hotel.
