Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

You will be picked up from your hotel in Delhi and your guide will escort you in an air conditioned vehicle to Old Delhi. The tour begins with a short walk from Jama Masjid (one of India’s largest mosques) to Sitaram Bazaar. This area has shops owned primarily by Hindu Bania community merchants. The colourful and interesting street food in this market caters to the vegetarian preferences. From Sitaram Bazaar, we will take a ride in a cycle rickshaw and visit the famous Khari Baoli spice market. This is Asia's largest wholesale market selling all kinds of spices and nuts; it is also a wholesale market for food products like rice and tea. Here you can see the hundreds of colorful, small pyramids of dried fruit, nuts and spices.

Stop 2

From Khari Baoli, we will again take a cycle rickshaw to visit the Sees Ganj Gurudwara, the large Sikh Temple complex. We will participate in the cooking of the langar, the community cooking program of the Sikhs. You will experience the ultimate joy of giving and sharing at the world's largest community kitchen.

Stop 3

After Sees Ganj, we will walk through the hustle and bustle of the Chandni Chowk area, to visit Paranthe Wali Gali (Lane of Parathas). Parathas are stuffed flat breads.
