You will be picked at your hotel in the city of Thanjavur city in the early morning with your guide. Then drive to Madurai.
During the drive you will witness the rustic life and agricultural landscapes of Southern India. Reach Madurai after approximately three hours. Start your visit at the stunning, thousand-pillared Meenakshi Amman Temple devoted to Parvathi, Lord Shiva’s wife. This Gopurams (pyramidal portal towers) are secured with a bounty of multi-hued pictures of magical figures, creatures and divine beings.
Take a pause for lunch in a local restaurant after visiting Meenakshi Amman Temple. (lunch not included).
Later proceed to the fabulous Koodal Alagar Temple an impressive case of seventeenth century engineering. The temple is devoted to the Hindu god Vishnu.
Onward visit Thirumalai Nayak Mahal that once filled in as the royal residence of the famous Nayaka dynasty.
Finally, stop at the Gandhi Museum, which was built to honor the pioneer of Indian Independence, Mahatma Gandhi, after he was assassinated.
