Detailed itinerary

1

Grape growing and wine making in India trace back to the Bronze Age, when Persian traders brought the practice to the region. Then European travelers brought wine to the courts of the Mughal emperors Akbar, Jehangir and Shah Jehan. The next important contribution was made by the Portuguese settlers who not only improved the wine they found in the 16th century.

You will be picked up from your hotel in Bangalore and transferred to Nandi Hills and Grover Zampa Vineyards. This personalized winery tour gets you a firsthand experience of Indian wines. A brief history of wines and cultivation is provided. Detailed information regarding crushing, filtering, processing and packaging is shared. Then on to the barrel room where real oak barrels full of La Réserve lie in wait. You may taste five different varieties of wine in the air conditioned cellar. After the wine tasting, just relax and enjoy some snacks. When the tour concludes, you'll be transferred back to your hotel in Bangalore.
