About this experience

Jodhpur is a city in the Thar Desert of the northwest Indian state of Rajasthan. The capital was founded by Rao Jodha in the mid 1400s. It has not changed much from the old fortified town that was built under the protective cover of the imposing Mehrangarh Fort. The markets of Jodhpur are vibrant and chaotic. They reflect the multi cultural composition of its people but also Jodhpur’s long history as a trading center. Your 2.5 hour heritage walking tour will take you to the heart of Jodhpur where you will discover the lesser known treasures of this enchanting city.

You will be picked up from your hotel in Jodhpur and brought to the starting point for your Heritage Walk.  Your walk will take you to  historical monuments & sites.

Your heritage walking tour will start at the Chandpole Gate.  During your tour, your guide will share interesting legends from Jodhpur’s past.  

We will visit the historic Krishna Temple, named Kunj Bihari Temple.  

Jodhpur has more than 100 stepwells, some hidden away in its many narrow alleys. Built in the 1740s, this historic structure was only recently excavated and restored. It has clean lines and clear, fish-filled water.  

Moving through the local market with its colorful atmosphere will allow you to sample some local sweets of Jodhpur.

Your walking tour will end at the Ghanta Ghar Clock Tower, which was constructed by the Late Shri Sardar Singh Ji of Jodhpur.  

At the end of your tour, you will be brought back to your hotel in Jodhpur.
